things to consider before looking for a new job

Goals and Considerations

It’s a great idea to start thinking about your career goals and considering what you want your career to look like.

  • Deciding what’s next for you – whether that is working a non-legal role while you start your career focussed job search, or taking time off to go travelling, make some decisions about what’s next for you!
  • Think about your long and short term career goals – what area of law do you want to get into? Where do you want to be in a year, or 5 years time? (Don’t put too much pressure on yourself here, but do give it some thought!)
  • Where would be the best fit? Take some time to think about what type of law firm would be best for you. It might impact the type of vacancies you apply for, or where you start your job search!
