Housing Disrepair Costs Draftsperson

Position Description

Esteemed law firm with offices across the North West is seeking a Costs Draftsperson to support their Housing Disrepair (HDR) team.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a solid understanding of costs drafting and assessment procedures. Experience in handling costs related to civil litigation or HDR cases would be advantageous.

This role is based in Merseyside, with occasional travel to other offices in the North West as required. Additionally, after the probationary period, the firm may consider hybrid or remote working arrangements to accommodate your needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare bills of costs, schedules, and other relevant documentation for HDR cases.
  • Assist in the negotiation and settlement of costs disputes with opposing parties.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of costs budgets and estimates to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with fee earners and other members of the HDR team to provide comprehensive support on costs-related matters.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation and regulations affecting costs drafting and assessment.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in handling costs matters, with exposure to civil litigation or HDR cases preferred.
  • Proficiency in costs drafting and assessment procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel to other offices in the North West as needed.
