Position Description
A reputable law firm in London is seeking a skilled Solicitor Advocate/Barrister to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in Housing Conditions Law while delivering high-quality advocacy and legal support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver advocacy and legal advice on Housing Conditions cases, particularly where Landlords have failed to adhere to repairs by Court Order or agreed settlements.
- Represent clients in hearings related to Housing Conditions, with opportunities to handle substantive cases.
- Assist in drafting Particulars of Claim (PoCs), pleadings, skeleton arguments, and provide formal and informal legal advice to fee-earning staff.
- Conduct civil advocacy.
- Keep up to date with procedural changes, case law, and legislative developments relating to Housing Conditions, including Sections 9, 10, and 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act.
- Ensure that a high-quality, professional advocacy service is delivered to all clients.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to team growth.
Requirements:
- Qualified Barrister or Solicitor with Higher Rights of Audience for civil advocacy.
- Strong knowledge of Housing Law, particularly relating to Housing Conditions.
- Experience in drafting legal documents including pleadings, advices, and skeleton arguments.
- Excellent advocacy skills with a proven ability to represent clients in court.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
- Commitment to high-quality client service and attention to detail.
