Position Description
A growing top 80 law firm is seeking a Legal Support Lawyer to join their Medical Law team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional with expertise in medical negligence cases to play a crucial role in assessing medical negligence leads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake assessments of medical negligence leads conducted by the medical legal acceptance team.
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of medical conditions and the ability to identify appropriate case categories.
- Review medical negligence leads rejected by the Structure Information Decision Support System (SIDSS) or medical legal team. Identify the relevant date of knowledge for risk assessment, record information on Proclaim, and document the reasons behind setting the limitation period to that date.
- Provide training and support to the Medical Law Service and the firm's lawyers.
Requirements:
- Approximately 8 years of PQE with a focus on medical negligence cases.
- Strong understanding of medical conditions and their legal implications.
- Ability to assess leads and make informed decisions.
- Attention to detail is crucial for recording and documenting case information accurately.
