In-House Counsel

Position Description

A leading law firm is seeking an In-House Counsel to join their team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate of the Bar Vocational Course who has yet to secure a pupillage and is eager to gain valuable experience working closely with experienced in-house counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing legal advice and support to various departments within the firm.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including briefs, contracts, and opinions.
  • Support senior in-house counsel in preparing for and attending court proceedings and negotiations.
  • Manage and maintain legal files and documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals to develop case strategies and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance legal knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of the Bar Vocational Course (BVC).
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a professional legal environment.
