Position Description

Join a leading criminal practice in Manchester as a Criminal Fee Earner / Police Station Accredited Representative. The firm handles a diverse range of cases, including serious, motoring, juvenile, white-collar, and financial crimes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients at police stations, providing legal advice and assistance during interviews and proceedings.
  • Prepare cases for Crown Court hearings, including legal research, case analysis, and evidence gathering.
  • Draft legal documents, including witness statements, briefs, and submissions.
  • Attend court hearings and trials to advocate on behalf of clients.
  • Liaise with clients, barristers, and other legal professionals to ensure effective case management.
  • Maintain accurate and organised case files and records.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in criminal law and procedure.

Requirements:

  • Police Station Accredited Representative status is essential.
  • Experience as a Criminal Fee Earner or equivalent role.
  • Knowledge of criminal law and procedure, with experience in handling a variety of criminal cases.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Duty status is desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to undergo training and obtain necessary accreditations and exams.
