Position Description
Join a leading law firm as an Assistant Lawyer in their Motor team based in Bolton. This role involves managing a caseload for prominent UK insurers, specialising in complex motor indemnity property damage claims, defended liability matters, coverage, and motor indemnity recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial file reviews, assessing indemnity, liability, limitation, quantum, and strategy.
- Prepare and deliver reports to clients on a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) basis.
- Address liability questions concerning policyholders, third parties, and other insurers.
- Manage all aspects of the litigation process, including drafting witness statements, instructing experts and counsel, investigations, legal research, attending meetings, conferences, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
- Handle routine correspondence and potentially engage in strategic litigation.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Defendant property insurance litigation.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload independently.
- Working knowledge of motor indemnity principles.
- Legal qualification (Solicitor / FILEX).
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in Defendant fraud insurance matters.
- Knowledge of claims involving breach of contract, negligence, nuisance, and insurance coverage disputes.
